To introduce students to the theory and practical applications of high performance parallel and reconfigurable computing.
An introduction to the parallel computing paradigm (parallelism, types of architectures, performance metrics)
Basic Message Passing Interface (MPI) programming
Cluster Computing (cluster classifications, middleware and single system image, resource management, and types of applications)
Reconfigurable Computing concepts
Field Programmable Gate Arrays
Basic VHDL programming
Basic Handel-C programming
Active research activities
