To introduce students to the research literature in education, and the methods used in educational research.
Adopting an inquiry approach to teaching practice; formulating research questions and hypotheses; undertaking bibliographical searches; using the web to locate research resources; choosing a research method; research ethics; quantitative and qualitative methods; analysing data; writing and referencing for publication, trialling and reporting on research methods.
