To engage with principles and practices for designing language and culture curriculum that is grounded in a sound theory of language teaching, a recognition of the policy contexts, and an appreciation of learner diversity.
Aspects and elements of curriculum; principles of language learning and teaching; constructions of content; principles of curriculum design; curriculum and resources evaluation; selecting, adapting and creating learning resources; formulating curriculum intentions; principles and practices for establishing curriculum content; assessing language learning.

For students enrolled in pre-service programs such as the LMTC Master of Teaching (Middle and Secondary) or the LBPM Bachelor of Education (Primary and Middle), prerequisites are: EDUC 4168 Second Language Learning and EDUC 4115 Approaches and Strategies in TESOL.
For students enrolled in the LCAV Graduate Certificate of Education (TESOL) or LGVW Graduate Diploma in Education (Adult Vocational and Workplace Learning): EDUC 4168 Second Language Learning is a co-requisite.
