To enable students to understand the role of Design and Technology within the 3-9 curriculum and be able to plan appropriate learning experiences.
Design and Technology will be taught in its own right, and with links to other learning areas. Students will be able to focus upon methodology and theories particular to Design and Technology. Links to PAR 2 teaching experiences will be explicit. Design and Technology with consideration for its appropriate methodologies, materials, processes and systems to enable its implementation within the primary and middle school environment. In particular it will consider: the role and scope of Design and Technology within the 3-7 curriculum; problem solving within a technological environment; working with a range of materials, processes and systems including information and communication technologies (ICTs) to construct appropriate and relevant outcomes; resources and OHSW; effective classroom organisation and management.
