To familiarise students with public policy processes, discourses and practices at global, national and community-based/local levels.
Basic concepts in public policy; global/local discourses that shape policy formation; political contexts of public policy; identification of public policies relevant to education, especially AVWL, youth and early childhood; policy design, development and implementation; policy analysis; educators as policy researchers, policy workers; advocacy, principles and strategies.
