To introduce students to discrete mathematics relevant to engineering disciplines, and to extend knowledge in calculus and linear algebra and their application to engineering problems.
Discrete Mathematics: logic and proof; sets, relations and functions; algorithms and complexity; recurrence relations; graphs and trees. Complex functions. Multivariable calculus. Vectors in Euclidean space; orthogonality; matrices, eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Fourier series in different forms. Partial differential equations.
