To develop the basic skills, to establish and run a small business in the art/design industry.
A selection of topics drawn from: business management; business information systems; financial management, including taxation frameworks; cultural policy and government funding; arts and the law - management and governance; strategic and statutory planning; legal structures: arts organisations, small business, partnerships; insurance, professional indemnity and public liability; intellectual property, copyright, moral rights and trademarks; contracts, sub-contracting, managing volunteers, staff; ethical practice.
