To further develop students' understanding of how language is developed and used in the context of professional writing and publication.
The students will develop in-depth knowledge of how language functions at all levels from the word to the genre, learning how to describe the sounds of human language, how to talk about grammar, how to use grammar effectively, and how to write in the complex age of globalised English and bilingual readers. Students will use these skills to engage with print and online dictionaries and to analyse how meaning is negotiated at all levels of language.
