Managerial Finance

Course aim

This course provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge of the role and impact of business finance on organisational management and leadership, business strategy, and business conduct. To achieve this, the course considers the financial objectives of firms, and explores areas of financial risk, capital budgeting, corporate value and investment decision making.

Students completing the course develop a body of knowledge that:

• Contributes to a comprehensive and integrated application of business finance principles to recent developments in the field of senior organisational management and leadership in international business environments.
• Provides a pathway for further learning.

• Investment and security valuation.
• Investment evaluation & decision.
• Investment return and risk.
• Asset pricing models.
• Cost of capital and capital budgeting.
• Efficient market theory and financing decisions.
• Capital structure.
• Dividend payout decisions.
