To integrate the theoretical and practical skills students have gained in critical analysing of a wide range of texts so they can investigate and reflect upon the nature and functions of professional writing practices within community, professional, workplace and leisure settings.
The students will apply their knowledge on creative and professional writing practice to critically examine the changing and contested views about the nature of writing and its relationship to other communicative practices in professional and community contexts. Students will integrate the theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained in communicating effectively and thinking critically to analyse examples of qualitative and ethnographic research and design, conduct and write a field research report. Students will also reflect on their dual role as the researcher and writer in multiple contexts and in relation to their own professional practice.
