To provide students with a contextual understanding of ethical issues pertaining to rapidly growing media and communication industries; to foreground the growing industry recognition that applied ethics is a multi disciplinary field, encompassing a wide variety of disparate areas, investigation of which has an important role to play in public, academic and professional life; to prepare students to critically engage in and analyse ethical issues impacting on creative industries as they are transformed by digital media development, globalisation, and convergence; to understand ethical issues pertaining to policy development in creative industries.
Applied ethical theory, creative industry policy development, digital communications, censorship, privacy, intellectual property, security, the Internet, games industries, corporate communication, digital ethics, popular music, publishing, broadcasting, magazines, public relations, advertising, global journalism and photojournalism, fashion industry ethics, publishing industry ethics.
