Participatory Community Practice: Planning

Course aim

The aim of this course is to enable students to develop the knowledge, skills and capacity to analyse and plan a community orientated project in collaboration with an appropriate agency.

Course content

Philosophical and theoretical basis for community orientated practice. Processes and strategies relevant to community orientated approaches. Visits and liaison with community based agencies to identify potential projects, liaise with key stakeholders. Needs analysis and develop a project to meet the needs and aims of one agency. Acquisition skills for project planning and development.
