To enable students to apply and integrate knowledge and skills gained in the academic program to field practice in Occupational Therapy.
Role of practice education/work based learning in developing professional competencies and graduate attributes. Interpersonal skills, therapeutic use of self, culturally safe communication and critical self-reflexivity in occupational therapy. Orientation to field practice: expectations, goal setting, effective use of supervision, self directed learning in practice settings, reflective practice and performance evaluation. Observation and participation in occupational therapy programs and service delivery, under supervision. Application of knowledge and skills gained in the academic program to field practice.
