Course aim

This course is designed to develop students’ confidence with, and mastery of, fundamental mathematical concepts and techniques relevant to the medical sciences.

Course content

This course will focus on learning and applying mathematical concepts and techniques relevant to the medical sciences. This course starts with fundamental concepts relating to arithmetic, algebra, properties of functions (including polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic function families) and exponential growth and decay, before focusing on calculus (differentiation, applications to maxima and minima problems, integration, simple differential equations). Problems will be solved analytically and with use of technology.
