Course aim

To further develop students’ knowledge and skills in prescribing and programming exercise for the broader community for future professional practice, including apparently healthy individuals of all ages.

Course content

Exercise prescription process (including how to: conduct an initial consult and a pre-exercise screen, develop an exercise testing battery, and design an appropriate exercise program), aerobic and musculoskeletal exercise testing and prescription in healthy and ‘special’ populations, high intensity interval training, adaptations to aerobic and resistance training, exercise monitoring, periodisation, and advanced training methods.
