Course aim

To enable students to apply knowledge and skills in a professional, scholarly way in order to carry out a research project at an advanced level with substantial independence, and communicate the outcomes of this project to a variety of audiences.

Course content

Students will use their advanced understanding of the appropriate field of study to review, analyse, consolidate and synthesise existing knowledge in order to apply this to their research topic to create new knowledge. Students will commence a substantial piece of work to communicate this new knowledge to others, whether that involves writing a thesis or the production of an artefact with an exegesis. This work builds upon the proposal developed in the course Research Methods (Honours) and this will lead to completing the thesis or equivalent in Honours Thesis 2, or in the case of the Law degrees, this will be a stand-alone course.
