To prepare pre-service students for planning and teaching science in R-7 schools, incorporating current theoretical perspectives about learning in science.
Research into children's learning in science; principles of constructivism; an interactive approach to science teaching; structure of a recognised curriculum framework - Science; teaching science to children; sequential development of investigations; planning for learning; critical analysis of methods of teaching eg: problem solving, interactive approach; concept development in science; resources for teaching and learning science.
