To introduce students to theories and concepts of 'race' and racism and the development of racism in Australia.
Theories and concepts of rights and racism; discourse on ‘race’; the intersections between rights, racism, nationalism and gender; the politics and policies of ‘Aboriginal Affairs’, ; debates surrounding Indigenous rights; and a history of racism in colonial and contemporary Australia.
