To enable students to consolidate their social work knowledge and skills and demonstrate professional practice at the standards expected of a new graduate.
The students will consolidate their social work knowledge and skills through the placement including the conceptualisaiton of a specific project or program in relation to social work purpose. The students will develop advanced knowledge of social work process and frameworks, professional approaches to practice, judgement, decision-making and accountability, collegial and client relationships, and the planning, implementation and evaluation of program/service. The students will demonstrate their identification with the social work profession in practice and engage with the expectations of professional developement. Students will consolidate their social work practice skills and knowledge through completion of this course.

Satisfactory completion of or concurrent enrolment in all previous courses in the Bachelor of Social Work. Students are required to have undertaken a criminal history screening through the Department of Families and Communities and to have completed a 1 day Child Safe Environments Course. Some placements may require students to hold a current drivers licence and recognised First Aid Certificate.
