To introduce students to the practical and theoretical knowledge in the fundamentals of design, and to develop student skills in the application of this knowledge toward design outcomes, establishing the relationship between design principles and practice through creative processes.
Students will explore the nature of design. Emphasis is placed on the elements and principles of design and the visual relationships between them. Students will develop skills in the application of diverse approaches to creative problem solving based on methodologies and conceptual frameworks in contemporary design practice.
