To introduce students to a range of research practices and qualitative methods necessary to develop and commence a small independent research project in their design discipline.
An introduction to research strategies, techniques and methodologies; literature searching, developing an annotated bibliography, writing a literature review, typical qualitative research methods used in design research, research design and developing and writing a thesis (second half of thesis is written in ARCH 4014 LLS Honours Research 2. This course is taught with ARCH 6004 Research in Sustainable Design.
