Course aim

To provide a chronological account of architecture and design as foundational knowledge for students studying
Interior Architecture and Architecture.

Course content

Students will be introduced to the relationship between design, culture, and environment through the study of architectural history prior to the nineteenth Century. Students will develop skills to critically recognise, analyse and communicate the key narratives and themes underpinning the development of pre-Modernist architecture, interiors and landscapes and their relationship to contemporary society.
