To enable students to analyse approaches to group work and to demonstrate leadership and membership skills required for professional practice in the human services within a diverse range of groups and contexts.
Approaches to group work; group development; group structures and processes; group work theories; leadership theory and skills, roles and responsibilities; conflict management in groups; reflective practice in group work; various group contexts including case conferences, meetings, educational, mutual support and social groups; cultural and linguistic diversity.
