Requirements Engineering

Course aim

To equip students with the skills necessary to elicit, document, assess and maintain a set of requirements through the development of a system. These skills will include the use of contemporary requirement management tools and techniques.

Course content

Definition of a requirement. Importance and use of requirements in the system and software life cycle. Requirements workshop. Prioritization of requirements. Writing a requirements document. The need for estimating cost of schedule of implementing requirements. Requirements tracking. Determining requirements for products implemented by COTS components.
