Course aim

To equip students with the appropriate knowledge and practical skills needed to utilise modelling and simulation to support systems engineering activities.

Course content

Fundamental concepts of modelling and simulation. Probability distributions. Graphical, stochastic, event-based, agent-based, functional, and time-step models. Modelling and simulation considerations: User Interfaces, validation, and credibility. Statistical analysis of results. Non-deterministic solution search algorithms. Interactive simulations and intelligent systems.
