Course aim

To provide an understanding of the use of spatial statistics in the areas of geospatial and environmental science.

Course content

Revision of basic statistical terminology. Statistical inference: estimations, sampling distributions, hypothesis testing. Central tendency and dispersion theory. Moments of distributions. Spatial density estimation. Spatial randomness testing. Spatial autocorrelation. Kriging–punctal, universal, temporal. Bayesian methods. Use of appropriate computer software.
