Course aim

To introduce the student to the techniques of engineering maintenance along with machine vibration and vibration control to equip them develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance management program using proven strategies.

Course content

The content of this course covers the topics of Fundamentals of Engineering Maintenance, reliability of equipment and systems, Vibration Analysis and Applications, Vibration Sources, Vibration theory, Vibration measurements and analysis techniques, Impact of Maintenance, Financial Implications and Cost Justification, Role of Maintenance in an Organisation, Benefits of Predictive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance Techniques, Control of mechanical vibrations, Failure-mode analysis, and establishing a predictive maintenance program.
