To enable students to understand the financial reporting environment, apply financial accounting and reporting requirements for reporting entities and companies for the purpose of external financial reporting, and related issues.
Overview of the financial reporting environment; arrangements for regulating external financial reporting and harmonisation. General purpose financial reports with particular reference to the Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Profit or Loss and Other Comprehensive Income and, Statement of Changes in Equity. Specific measurement issues including: leases, principles underlying preparation of financial statements including conceptual framework, an events after reporting period. Accounting for groups of entities and consolidations.
