To provide students with a practical introduction to a range of relief printmaking techniques and their knowledge of conceptual and practical printmaking skills.
Relief (lino or woodblock) intaglio (collagraph or etching)and alternative techniques, which encourage the use of these processes in an individual, expressive and creative manner. Aesthetic and conceptual examples from the history and theory of the mediums, matrix preparation, ink application, choice of paper, editioning or printing in serial work or unique states will be covered. Working in a collaborative studio and health and safety issues will be addressed.
