Course aim

To extend skills and techniques utilised in contemporary ceramic practice to produce multiple clay objects or editions through the process of slip casting and wheel throwing.

Course content

Students will develop knowledge in historical development and contemporary design of the functional / utilitarian based objects, surface treatments, studio and materials management, kiln procedures, and occupational health and safety issues. Students will gain advanced skills in wheel throwing, slip casting and majolica glazing as methods and finishes to produce multiple clay objects or editions.
