Historical overview of predominant attitudes towards the production and reception of Australian art; current debates and developments in Australian art; the influence of post-modern discourse of ‘others’, and the challenge to traditional Eurocentric, patriarchal perspectives; Indigenous Australian art and its relationship to Eurocentric traditions; Australian Modernism with reference to craft and design developments.
