To introduce students to the study of fire ecology for ecosystem managers.
Effects of fire on flora, fauna and ecosystems. Principles of fire ecology and their application to fire management in conservation lands. Indigenous use of fire and prescribed burning. Fire behaviour models and prediction. Planning for hazards, threats, protection and prevention.
