Course aim

This course provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge to develop, through the undertaking of experiential learning activities and projects in business and community settings, professional business skills and values and explore how these impact on organisational management and leadership decisions, business strategy, and business conduct. Students will apply management theories, undertake structured analysis and reflect on the experience gained in the undertaking of the course activities and projects.

Course content

In this course students will be able to choose one of two organisational engagement options. Students will be involved in management and strategic activities and projects that require practical application of academic knowledge. The aim is to engage the student in a real world learning experience and stimulate their personal and professional development. The options in this course are:

MBA Project Consulting Teams
MBA students will work in a team on a real business challenge. The team will engage with a host organisation, work on a group project and also develop material from their experiences for their individual reflective learning portfolio.

MBA Board Observant
MBA students will obtain unique insight into the work of boards of directors and the particular issues faced by not for profit boards of directors. Students will attend board meetings, work on a board project and also develop a reflective learning portfolio.
