Course aim

For the students to understand the scientific principles of wildlife ecology and learn aspects of wildlife ecology for application to management that are essential to anyone working in the field of biodiversity conservation and park management.

Course content

Wildlife and us, ethics and animals, preparing for a wildlife camp, trapping and caring for animals, vertebrate and invertebrate identification, behavioural studies, hormones and behavioural rhythms, animal communication, current issues of wildlife ecology and management, food and cover, migration and navigation, mating systems, animal intelligence, wildlife diseases, viva preparation, conducting research on wildlife.
