To introduce students to the concepts of the four-step model. Theories and procedures in transport modelling of performance and travel demand behaviour. The application of transport modelling tools.
The transport planning and analysis process. Transport database assembly. Zoning and network coding. The four-step process. Trip generation. Trip distribution. Modal choice. Trip assignment. Hierarchy of transport models. Synthesis of travel demand matrices. Evaluation of transport projects. Impact and goal assessments. Micro simulation and macro simulation models.
