To introduce students to research methodologies and issues in education to prepare them for undertaking a project or an independent research investigation.
Students will examine how the research may position them and their courses and the relation of the research to the socio-political context in which it will be conducted. Students will explore the methodological knowledge and skills introduced in this course to generate and analyse both qualitative and quantitative research data and also be mindful of the ethical and political issues involved in educational research.
