To enable students to define their own position in relation to the major debates and issues in the field of contemporary research in education and to further develop critical analytic skills of reading and interrogating research, and on theorising educational issues.
International perspectives on educational policy development and reform; Australian education policy and its relationship to social and economic/political change; Specific issues within the student's professional area of interest, eg the leadership debate in educational administration, devolution and decentralisation, accountability and standardised curricula, the School Effectiveness Movement and alternative views of educational reform, professional development.
