Course aim

To build on students' theoretical and practical understanding of feature writing techniques in the print media, and to practise them in the discipline of writing original communication initiatives for specific audiences.

Course content

Students will extend their knowledge about the structure of written information in the mainstream print media and through systematic comparison build understanding of the difference between news and feature writing. They will develop skills in style variations for defined publications and their readers, and demonstrate an understanding of professional ethical considerations consistent with professional entry-level requirements.
