To facilitate students understanding of the contribution of food, wine and festivals tourism to destination development, by building on the foundation studies of event management and exploring social, cultural, environmental, political and economic perspectives on food, wine and festivals as destination attractions.
Tourist attractions; role of food, wine and festivals as visitor attractions at destinations; role of rituals; food, wine, festival destination development and marketing; push pull factors; demand and supply for tourism products and services; special interest tourism; nature and characteristics of food, wine and festivals; cost, benefits and sustainability; demands and interests of stakeholders; tourist behaviour; challenges of food, wine and festival tourism; tourist demand for festivals and events.
