Course aim

To introduce students to key issues in, and approaches to media and cultural studies and to further develop  research, analytical and writing skills.

Course content

The Historical Relationship between Media and Audiences; Media Power; Media Discourse; Researching your Annotated Bibliography; Writing Your Research Essay; Web 2.0; Media Audiences in the Age of Interactivity; Creativity and the Knowledge Economy; career networks and portfolios.
