This course allows students to develop illustration skills using vector-based software; basic terminology, concepts and principles of visual design; file compression and formats.
Use of illustration vector-based software basic terminology, concepts and principles of visual design; psycho/physiological aspects of human visual perception in print contexts; vector graphics; file compression; graphics file formats for print; typographic styles for print; colour theory for print; scanning and manipulating images; presentation of visual information for diverse audiences in print media; ethical and legal implications of copyright. This course encourages experimentation through drawing skills using industry-standard software to create professional and sophisticated vector artwork, including graphical and text based materials for print publications; and innovative and creative digital illustration skills for inclusion in professional design portfolio.
