Course aim

To further develop students’ proficiency in spoken and written Japanese at an introductory level, building on their prior language learning, and strengthen their intercultural understanding through reflection on representations of contemporary Japanese culture and society.

Course content

Students will further develop their vocabulary and language structures related to a range of texts, themes and topics. Students will continue to develop grammatical concepts with a focus on language in use. They will build upon their sociocultural knowledge integral to a range of developing situations and tasks as well as intercultural aspects of contemporary Japanese culture and society relevant to the readings and projects covered.
