Course aim

To improve students’ proficiency in spoken and written French at a post-introductory level, develop their intercultural competence and provide opportunities for critical reflection on key moments of contemporary French culture and society.

Course content

Vocabulary related to a range of themes; review and consolidation of grammatical concepts and structures; extension of knowledge, skills and strategies for effective spoken and written communication; analysis of texts from contemporary narrative; cultural representations drawn from a selection of contemporary French literature, art, music and cinema; key moments of contemporary French culture and society and their relevance to intercultural contexts.
