Course aim

To introduce students basic spoken and written communication in French.

Course content

Introduction to French pronunciation, basic vocabulary and use of French in everyday situations; grammatical concepts and structures related to uses in French; sociolinguistic knowledge integral to the range of situations and tasks covered in the language classes; examples of Francophone culture and an investigation of personal cultural frames of reference in the form of a project.
