To develop students' news writing techniques across a range of media forms. To enable students to develop awareness of essential skills in news gathering, journalistic research and interviewing and writing for print, online and broadcast news media.
Students will develop specialised knowledge of and experience in foundational techniques of news writing for print, broadcast and online media, and for a diverse range of audiences. Students will also develop awareness of and skills in news gathering, research in the context of professional journalism practice and interviewing for journalism.
