The aim of this course is to investigate the process of curriculum development in Health and Physical Education with a focus on professional collaboration to design and teach coherent, integrated study programs that feature the application of curriculum frameworks and embedding learning for cross curricular capabilities and equity perspectives.
Principles and process of curriculum design in Health and Physical Education; collaborative planning for integration and cross curriculum learning; mapping curriculum experiences and authentic assessment strategies; leadership in implementation and teaching for multiple perspectives; application of contemporary curriculum frameworks including SACSA; planning a rationale and advocacy strategy for including learning through camps as an integral part of the curriculum; developing teaching capabilities and engaging in critical professional reflection of issues in leadership for managing, teaching and evaluating integrated curriculum experiences.
