To extend students’ knowledge and understanding of texts for English, and provide the opportunity to extend their skills in specific aspects of the English curriculum and frameworks.
The syllabus for this course will be flexible and responsive to particular needs of students; the assessment of secondary student responses to, and creation of, texts (written, visual, aural, ICT), including developing and assessing students’ oral skills; writing in the secondary classroom – the range of genres and forms; critical literacy and the examination of written texts – prose, poetry, drama, magazines; examination and familiarisation with South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE ) generated documents pertaining to English .
