Empirical Business Analysis

Course aim

To provide students with an introduction to empirical methods that are widely used in the analysis of business data and in business research, and to extend their understanding of the rationale for use of such techniques and their limitations.

Course content

Introduction of statistical analysis and techniques required in cross-sectional and time-series modelling. The application and limitations of techniques used in the analysis of data. Regression modelling techniques: concepts, applications, interpretation, and limitations. Use of appropriate computer software. Alternative methods of reporting and using analytical results.
