To extend knowledge in human movement and health science into the area of health, exercise and sports psychology in order to determine the social, psychological and environmental factors that influence exercise behaviour, sport participation and human performance, as well as other health behaviours, and identify and apply individualised and appropriate best-practice behavioural strategies and theories in working with individuals in health, exercise, and sport domains.
Introduction to health, exercise and sport psychology; personality; motivation; arousal and anxiety; physical activity and psychological well-being; health behaviour adherence; behaviour change theories; motivational interviewing; behaviour change techniques and mental skills.
