The aim of this course is to develop students' understanding of the role of podiatry in sports medicine, and to further their knowledge and skills in relation to sports podiatry. To develop an understanding of the biomechanical, physiological and psychological factors influencing athletes and their performance.
Analysis of trunk and lower limb movement during walking, running, jumping, kicking and other sports related activities. Podiatric intervention for preventive and therapeutic management. Treatment of child, adolescent and adult athletes. Diagnosis and management of various sporting injuries common to the lower limb.
